In 2001, Ty entered the mortgage banking industry after a twenty-two year career as a collegiate football coach with stops in North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, and Virginia. The North Carolina native's accomplishments in the mortgage banking industry have been both fast and numerous. In his initial year as a mortgage banker, Ty was named the Rookie of the Year. The recognition continued in 2002 when he was named the Vice-President and Branch Manager for SunTrust Mortgage in Charlottesville and again in 2006 when he was promoted to a Region Market Manager.
